The Greenwich Art Center’s Bendheim Gallery will open an exhibition in celebration of Christina Weyl’s important new book on Modernist printmaking in mid-century New York, Women of Atelier 17 The exhibition is organized by Dolan/Maxwell and includes many works from Stanley William Hayter’s own collection. Included are over 60 rare works on paper by Jean Morrison Becker, Christine Engler, Ellen Abbey Countey, Worden Day, Helen Phillips, Kett, Shari Dienes, Minna Citron, Francine Felsenthal, Dalla Husband, Terry Haass, Sue Fuller, Yvonne Hagen, Fanny Hillsmith, Alice Trumbull Mason, Norma Morgan, Anita Heinman, Jean Aronsberg, Louise Nevelson, Jean Franksen, Nina Negri, Judy Blum, Nono Reinhold, Doris Seidler, Gail Singer, Shirley Wales, Pennerton West, Judith Rothschild, Anne Weinholt, Dorothy Dehner, Anne Ryan, Shirley Witebsky, Perle Fine and Sheri Martinelli.
We’ve included important prints by Atelier 17 founder, Stanley William Hayter and by his close associates Gabor Peterdi, Fred Becker, Mauricio Lasansky, and Krishna Reddy.
