Featuring: Kimberly Stemler
Opening Reception: Sunday, September 23, 2–5 pm
These Things I Carry is about the recognition of the subtleties of life and environment. The exhibit primarily revolves around landscapes that are densely patterned, layered, and focused on color. These landscapes, while abstract, have the ability to give the viewer a sense of connection to place, time, and moment. The paintings can feel nostalgic and almost recognizable, like a fuzzy memory. Kimberly Stemler’s work tends to revolve around objects that are evocative, wistful, and full of remembrance in a manner that is reminiscent of an old photo. Kimberly was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She holds a BFA in painting from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.
