SX-70 Polaroid photographs made in the 1970s and ’80s in New York City, Santa Barbara and Philadelphia – before, during, and after the artist briefly studied film at NYU in NYC. Vintage SX-70 Polaroids and custom prints from originals. All prints are signed and dated. No filters, or other manipulations were used in the creation of these Polaroid photographs.
In the age of of the $1K iPhone, virtually anyone can snap a well-composed photograph to share with the social media world. UNFILTERED is an exhibition of vintage SX70 Polaroid photography art created by Jenny Lynn in the 1970s and 1980s. These photographs do not rely on fancy image stabilization technology, user-friendly photo editing software, or Instagram filters. The artist’s composition and use of light combined with her surrealist aesthetic makes this exhibition a must-see. Amateur and professional photography enthusiasts alike will ask themselves “how did she do that?” using instant Polaroid film.

JENNY LYNN is an accomplished photo-based artist, whose work is widely exhibited, collected, and published. Her unique and varied work ranges from conceptual photographs and photomontages to large-scale public works. She is also an “Absolut Artist” (ABSOLUT LYNN, commissioned by Absolut Vodka), and has released two illustrated art books, PhotoPlay, a monograph of her work, and EyeBook: Sixty Artists. One Subject., which she conceived and edited. Jenny Lynn also teaches and lectures at colleges, universities and other venues.
