The evening will be dedicated to the idea of achieving mental and physical wellbeing through art, a subject near and dear to this year’s honorees: former CEO of Independence Blue Cross Dan J. Hilferty, and philanthropists Sandy and Steve Sheller.

Guests will learn about Mural Arts’ Porch Light program, created in partnership with the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services. Porch Light’s aim is to achieve universal health and wellness among Philadelphians–especially those dealing with mental health issues and/or trauma–through art-making and opportunities to contribute to meaningful works of public art. Art can ignite change!

The festive and entertaining evening of virtual programming will include remarks from Mural Arts Executive Director Jane Golden and Porch Light Program Director Nadia Malik; presentations of highlights from Porch Light programs, including Kensington Storefront to Color Me Back: A Same-Day Work and Pay Program; and tributes to our esteemed honorees and Visionary Artist awardees, Nilé Livingston and Hank Willis Thomas.
