Fabrics Workshop With Linda Celestian
Join us March 29 from 6-8pm for the next art workshop at Park Towne Place! Mixed media artist Linda Celestian will be demonstrating key techniques that she uses to transform colorful felt, silk and other fabrics into compelling sculptural objects, jewelry, and decorative bowls. Participants will become acquainted with her tactile processes and finish a unique object of their own to take home.
Celestian’s silk-based Funghi Series – consisting of three subtlely colored wall sculptures resembling mushrooms – is part of Park Towne’s permanent collection. She derives much of the inspiration for her work from observational and emotional positions to the natural world. She concentrates on a variety of materials to respond to the flux and fluidity in the elemental forces that interest her. Her work has been exhibited extensively in Philadelphia and across the region.
This workshop is organized by InLiquid and Park Towne Place Museum District Residences. We are pleased to offer these programs affordably. To help cover supplies costs, we ask for a donation with RSVP, and encourage you to be as generous as you can. All skill levels are welcome to participate.
