Natural Abstract features recent paintings by Rebecca McGuire Jacob. Jacob’s abstract works celebrate the inherent beauty of painted color and light. Her carefully cultivated compositions are born out of stream-of-conscious drawings. In the following translation to painting, Jacob breathes life into her images with her discerning eye for color. Brief glimmers of gold leaf serve to absorb the gaze and capture the imagination.

Jacob graduated from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia. In addition to Moore, Rebecca studied at the School of the Visual Arts, NYC, The Art Students League of New York, the Cleveland Art Museum and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Rebecca worked as a storyboard illustrator in NYC for several years. She currently resides outside of Philadelphia, in between travels to family in Boston, Texas and New Mexico.
