Nowhere is a photographic series documenting Alvarez’s travels across America and beyond. Taken over a decade, the series examines places of transition, places that are non-places. The scenes of rest stops, underpasses, broad roads, lonely landscapes, and houses are at once familiar and strange. The collection is intended to offer a greater appreciation for the often overlooked places of transition.
