Afterschool Ceramics Instructor

This Deadline Expired: Friday, January 31, 2020

The University City Arts League (UCAL) is seeking a part time ceramics instructor to lead pottery and ceramics classes for students age 5-7 in Monday and Wednesday Afterschool Program starting in the year 2020. Their Afterschool Art classes run from 4 – 5:30 PM and provide students with a technical arts education while also exploring contemporary critical thought. The preferred instructor will be familiar working with children and comfortable working in a ceramics studio, with teaching clearances, or willing to obtain said clearances.

UCAL offers competitive hourly wages, and potential for growth into their collection of arts programs (and Summer Camp teaching opportunities)

Artists interested in this opportunity should e-mail the UCAL Programs Manager a letter of interest and a copy of their resume

Joe Vescovich's pieces are full of texture, layers and depth that can and need to be walked around and viewed form different points and perspectives. He engages the viewer to be active in the experience by encouraging interaction from differing perspectives. Many of his pieces have hints of sculptural qualities that pop from the wall. This creates shadows and movement within and outside of the piece.
