Announcing a new fellowship supporting women artists of color
Ongoing Opportunity
Gallery Aferro is very pleased to announce the John and Lynn Kearney Fellowship for Equity in support of gender-based, racial and economic justice. The new fellowship, open to women artists of color of any age, will cover all workspace studio costs of six months for two artists annually, along with a restriction-free stipend and bespoke solo programming opportunities within the vibrant context of Gallery Aferro and Newark, NJ. Artist Bisa Washington will be the inaugural resident for 2019, with an open call for successive residents during 2019 and beyond to be announced later this spring.
If you’re an artist, this fellowship- space, time, and money- could be yours.
If you know someone who could benefit from these fellowships, please tell them about us, and us about them.
If you want to discuss creating the next fellowship advancing equity at Gallery Aferro, let’s talk. We can work together to model the world as we wish it to be. Email Emma Wilcox at ewilcox@aferro.org or 973 353 9533 to learn more about this amazing and surprisingly accessible possibility for you or your group.
