Art Ability Call for Entries

Art Ability Call for Entries

This Deadline Expired: Monday, July 6, 2020

Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital’s Art Ability program is now accepting artist entries for the 2020-21 Exhibition and Sale. This marks the 25th year of the international juried exhibition and sale of art and fine crafts by artists with disabilities.

Established in 1996, Art Ability is one of the country’s largest international juried exhibitions and sales of art and fine crafts created by artists with cognitive, physical, hearing and visual disabilities. Art Ability provides a unique venue for artists with disabilities to display and sell their work and inspires the patients of Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital to explore their own creativity.

This opportunity is open to artists with physical, cognitive, visual and/or hearing disabilities.

As a health care organization, the safety of their constituents is our highest priority. While the commitment to Art Ability remains strong, in light of the current pandemic, they have decided to pivot the annual Preview Reception and Dinner & Auction events to a virtual format.

In celebration of Art Ability’s 25th year, there will be a livestream virtual Kick-Off Party on Saturday, November 7, 2020. The annual exhibit and sale will be on display at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital from November 8, 2020 – January 31, 2021 and will be open to the public based on current visitor policies.

Gestural lines, fragmented patterns and assorted textures are the threads of my work which create a space for the confluence of memory, time and place. The overarching theme of my work is a narrative drawn from personal history, my meditation and spiritual practice, community engagement and interest in the mysteries of the Universe.
