Art Ability Call for Entry

deadline: Wednesday, July 6, 2022

Participation
For detailed eligibility and submission requirements, please visit www.mainlinehealth.org/artability.

Eligible artists should submit materials in digital format through the CaFE website at www.callforentry.org (search Art Ability).

Eligible media
Paintings, drawings, fine printmaking, photography, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry and fine crafts accepted. All pieces must be available for sale and ready for display. Original work only, no reproductions will be accepted.

Finishing
Once accepted, flat works may need to be framed. Be sure to read detailed eligibility and framing requirements at www.mainlinehealth.org/artability. Work may be disqualified if not submitted properly.

Judging and award process
Distinguished members of the Greater Philadelphia arts community award prizes for artistic merit. $8,000 in prizes will be awarded.

Exhibition and sale
Art Ability is currently planning to return to an in-person Kick-Off Celebration the first week of November. The annual exhibit and sale will be on display at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern, Pennsylvania, from November 6, 2022 to January 29, 2023 and will be open to the public based on current visitor policies.

Reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Please remember your audience when selecting the work you choose to submit. Art Ability is a rehab hospital and the work is installed in the hospital hallways, used daily by patients, clinicians and guests. The work needs to promote a healing environment. Each year, they turn down some submissions because the subject matter is dark –often fabulous artwork – but the subject matter is just not a match. If you have a question on what you should submit, email in advance and they’ll give you feedback – artability@mlhs.org.  Nudes are also not accepted.
