Baldwin Fine Art + Residential is looking to hire crate builders / wood workers to join the Baldwin team as the company continues to grow. Located just outside of Philadelphia, PA, Baldwin has been providing everyone from the casual art lover to museums and galleries alike with top rated fine art services and solutions. In the past few years Baldwin has continued to expand and is looking for candidates who are team players and looking to grow with the company.

Position Summary:
Crate builders are responsible for fabricating crates within our woodshop for the safe packaging and transport of artwork.

This is a part time position with the possibility of full time employment after a probationary period. Compensation based on experience. The company provides competitive hourly pay with flexible scheduling. Though it is not required, candidates that have extensive hands-on experience in all facets of art handling are preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
-Fabrication of two-way crates, t-frames, and museum quality crates
-Creation of cut-lists for successful fabrication of crates
-Safe operation of panel saws, mitre saws, table saws, power tools, etc

A successful candidate will have the following attributes:
-A minimum of 2 years experience working in a woodshop or similar role
-High level of woodshop skills and knowledge of woodshop safety
-Working knowledge and interest in fine art, decorative art, design, or similar
-Working knowledge of industry-standard packing and crating techniques and materials
-Strong math skills
-Proactive, organized, and a team player
-Strong attention to detail, discretion, and follow-through
-The ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 75lbs
-Dependable and consistent within a deadline driven environment
-Proficiency in 3d modeling programs such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc not required but preferred

Working Conditions:
-Work is based out of our Wyndmoor warehouses outside of Philadelphia
