Create! Magazine is pleased to announce an open call for the January 2017 issue.
Create! Magazine is a publication for artists, makers, and creative entrepreneurs. Our mission is to promote fresh, unique work of creatives from around the world. Each issue is filled with vibrant contemporary art, craft, design, and inspiring stories of the makers behind it. The magazine is released bimonthly in a limited edition print and digital format.
ELIGIBILITY: Artists are welcome to apply with works in any medium: painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography, mixed media, installation and more. Artists from all countries are welcome to submit.

DEADLINE: November 30, 2016
FEE: $25 for 3 images, $30 for 5 images (non-refundable)

WHERE TO PURCHASE: The January issue will be available through our online shop as well as select bookstores nationwide (US).
SELECTED ARTISTS: Artists selected by the guest juror will receive a 2-page spread including a brief bio, website, and 2 images in print and digital formats. Published artists will receive a complimentary digital issue and will be listed on our website/social media.
GUEST CURATORS: Erin and Justin Nathanson are curators and art dealers living in Charleston, South Carolina. Together they opened The Southern in January of this 2016. The Southern is a contemporary gallery dealing in recent works by artists connected to the American South. The gallery will exhibit during Satellite Art Show in South Beach, Miami, Florida from December 1 – 4, 2016.
My artwork talks quietly about the underlying significance of the domestic sphere on artist production. It argues for the relevance of craft, specifically ceramics and fiber arts, by creating a conversation between the two mediums. Displaying a fascination with the way fiber marks clay, my ceramics exhibit just how subtle those marks can be.
