Call for Artists: Media Arts CouncilGallery Juried Painting Exhibition

Media ArtsCouncil Gallery invites regional artists to submit works for the juriedpainting exhibition Fresh Hues. Fresh Hues welcomes allprofessional artists to submit images of paintings relating to theirinterpretation of “the change of season.”

Cash prizes: First place $300.00;Second place $200.00; Honorable Mention $100.00

Exhibition dates:  May 11, 2017 – June 3, 2017

Opening Reception: Saturday May 13, 2017 4-6pm

JUROR: Alice Beamesderfer, Philadelphia Museum of Art

ENTRY FEES: There is a $35.00 entry fee for one to three artworksentered, presentation is by JPG image files. There is a $5.00 fee for eachadditional artwork. Limit of five artworks permitted. Please submit images injpeg format at 300 dpi with longest side not exceeding 1900 pixels. Payments bycredit card at time of entry.

ELIGIBILITY AND RESTRICTIONS: The competition is open to all regional professionalpainters. Paintings must be created using traditional media such as oil,acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and mixed media.  Video, photography,graphic, digital or sculptural work will not be accepted at this time. All workmust be original, completely finished, wired, and ready to hang. Maximum sizefor pieces is 36″ by 48″. Please label the back of each piece with your nameand the title of the work.

Accepted works must remain onexhibit for the duration.

LIABILITY: While every effort to properly care for work is made, theMedia Arts Council is not responsible for the loss or damage of work while intransit or during the exhibition.  Artists should provide their owninsurance coverage.  Submission into the exhibition indicates acceptanceof these conditions.  A Hold Harmless Agreement will be signed upondelivery of your work.

NOTIFICATION:  Artists will be notified of acceptance ornon-acceptance no later than April 14 via email address submitted attime of entry.

Delivery/Drop off artwork date (NoExceptions): MAY 7, noon to 2pm

·      The gallery is located at 609-B W.State St., Media, PA

·      Please bring an artist’s statementand short bio when delivering.

Pick up date: JUNE 4, noon to 2pm

Sales/Commission: Gallery takes 40% of sales
