Call for Entry: Child’s Play

Call for Entry: Child’s Play

This Deadline Expired: Monday, November 12, 2018

Memories and experiences of childhood become imprinted on the consciousness in a permanent way. Seeing toys we played with, pictures we drew, and characters that were real or imaginary give us a sense of nostalgia. “Child’s Play” is an international, all-media exhibition celebrating the child within. The concept of this show is to revisit childlike ideas, behaviors, symbols, and imagery to bring some whimsy and childlike innocence into our adult lives.
Artists are invited to submit up to three pieces of work they believe reflect the experience of childhood. Artists of all skill levels working in all mediums are encouraged to enter. Entries must be submitted by November 12, 2018. “Child’s Play” will open with a reception on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 5:30-8 pm in the main gallery. The exhibition will be on display from January 4, 2019 – February 15, 2019. Three prizes will be awarded at the Opening Reception: two Juror’s Choice Awards of $200, and a Going Solo Award that offers the awarded artist the choice between a Going Solo Exhibition and $500.

Nationally respected Artist Tim Liddy will serve as juror for this exhibition. Liddy is known for his body of work featuring mid-twentieth-century board games. For more information about Liddy and the exhibition, visit http://www.foundryartcentre.org/childs-play.
