Call for Proposals: 2020 Lewes Public Art Mural Project

Call for Proposals: 2020 Lewes Public Art Mural Project

deadline: Friday, August 14, 2020

The Lewes Public Arts Committee Project is dedicated to fostering community interaction and intellectual growth through shared experiences in the world of art. The City celebrates its bike paths that have opened new vistas for our residents and visitors alike. The City is commissioning a mural to be installed for a minimum of 18 months along the bikeway between the Lewes Public Library and the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal. They began this public mural project as a way of demonstrating cultural growth in neighborhoods. By establishing a visual public presence, they hope that the community will join together in sharing their experiences with art as they encounter this work.

The Lewes Public Arts Committee’s goal is to create a piece of public art for an outdoor environment that reflects the spirit of Lewes, to be created by a dedicated and qualified artist or artist team that can demonstrate artistic excellence, while completing this project on time and within budget. The 2020 Lewes Public Art Mural Project with be installed at 216 Schley Ave, Lewes, DE 19958.
