Color and Shape Art Competition

Color and Shape Art Competition

deadline: Wednesday, August 31, 2022

UPWARD Gallery invites artists worldwide to submit artwork to our online competition and exhibit, Color and Shape.

Many artists believe that color is as important in telling a story as the subject they paint. Geometric and irregular shapes — objects made by humans or passions to come from nature? The interplay of color and shape defines the underlying emotion of an artwork.
But how is color and shape used to create in your art?

Acceptable mediums include all traditional art media (e.g., oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, mixed media, gouache, egg tempera, pen and ink; drawing media such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, scratch board, markers, metal point), digital painting, arts and crafts (beadwork, pottery, embroidery, floristry, batik, stained glass, two-dimensional collage and fabric art as well, etc.).

No entry fee.
All accepted pieces will be displayed in the online gallery at https://upwardgallery.com.

My artwork talks quietly about the underlying significance of the domestic sphere on artist production. It argues for the relevance of craft, specifically ceramics and fiber arts, by creating a conversation between the two mediums. Displaying a fascination with the way fiber marks clay, my ceramics exhibit just how subtle those marks can be.
