CREATURE FEATURE – A Juried Exhibition

Open to all Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware artists eighteen years of age or older. Limit of two (2) entries per artist. Artists may interpret the theme “CREATURE FEATURE” using any conceptual framework desired. Entries must have been completed during the last three years and not previously exhibited at the Community Arts Center.

All two-dimensional media accepted, including mixed media, wall sculpture, and hand-pulled prints. Photography and digital art are acceptable. (No digital print reproductions of handmade works.) Two-dimensional work may not exceed 48 inches in width and 10 feet in height. Three-dimensional work is also accepted. Three-dimensional work that requires a pedestal may not exceed 12 inches in width or depth and 24 inches in height. Free standing sculpture may not exceed 24 inches in width or depth and 48 inches in height. Hand delivery only. All entries must be dry and suitably prepared for hanging/display. The Community Arts Center reserves the right to reject any piece that does not meet these requirements. All work must be for sale. The Community Arts Center retains 40% commission on all works sold at this exhibition. The Community Arts Center will exercise every precaution in handling all entries, however, the Arts Center cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage.

JURORS: Brad Hagmayer, Garth Herrick, Martha Perkins

The show will be anchored by a multi-piece ceramic installation by Brad Hagmayer and Bob Deane. Brad is a local ceramic artist whose work has been concerned with animal subject matter from a young age. He has also worked extensively in veterinary medicine. Brad will be joined on the jury panel by Garth Herrick and Martha Perkins. Garth Herrick is an award-winning portrait artist who has also painted mayors, former Gov. Ed Rendell, federal judges and presidents of colleges and universities. Martha Perkins is a Swarthmore based artist working in various media who is known for her vibrant pet portraits.
