Fine Arts Work Center Visual Arts Fellowships

This Deadline Expired: Saturday, February 1, 2020

The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging the growth and development of emerging visual artists and writers and to restoring the year-round vitality of the historic art colony of Provincetown, Massachusetts.

To that end, the center is inviting applications for its 2020-21 Visual Arts Fellowship. Fellowships are open to visual artists in the emerging stages of their careers who are creating two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and/or time-based work. Through the program, ten visual artists will be awarded with a seven-month residency that runs from October 1, 2020, through April 30, 2021. Fellows are required to reside full-time in Provincetown during the seven months of the fellowship and are provided with a private furnished apartment, a separate work studio of approximately 400 square feet, and a monthly stipend of $750. The Fine Arts Work Center welcomes family members and partners of fellows during the fellowship term, and there is one pet-friendly apartment available for a visual artist.

There is a $57 application fee.

Applicants may be a citizen of any country. Tenure track professors in fine arts who are on sabbaticals are not eligible.

See the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, and information about previously awarded fellows.
