Halcyon By The People Festival Open Call

By the People, a free, city-wide international arts and dialogue festival presented by Halcyon in Washington, DC, is holding an open call for artists working in all mediums and art forms to submit proposals for performances or large scale artworks. The festival’s more than 100 events include performances, art installations, and curated conversations about what it means to seek life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The preliminary thematic framework for By the People 2020 is entitled CULTURE SUPREME featuring installations and performances addressing the current shift in how Americans enact and shape democracy, from a political to a cultural perspective. Artists working in any discipline who can commit to creating and exhibiting work during June 12th-28th, 2020 are eligible to apply.
