Institute for Electronic Arts Invites Applications From New York Experimental Artists

This Deadline Expired: Monday, March 15, 2021

The Institute for Electronic Arts is dedicated to the integration of electronic media within the fine arts disciplines, with a focus on art making, research, and education.

To that end, the institute welcomes applications for its Experimental Projects Residency Program in Electronic Media and Visual Art.

Both the electronic media and visual art programs support artists with a one- or two-week residency, a stipend, travel support within New York State, lodging at the Institute for Electronic Arts, School of Art and Design at Alfred University, and access to technology, materials, and technical assistance. Artists also have access to a combination of emerging, contemporary, and historical media arts tools and materials, many of which are unique and not ordinarily available in a studio setting, as well as  twenty-four hour dedicated access to the IEA video and sound studio, which offers artists an integrated system with real-time video, image-processing software, hardware, and video capture.

To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of New York State.

The Electronic Media application deadline is March 15, and the Visual Art deadline is April 1.

See the Institute for Electronic Arts website for complete program guidelines, application instructions, and a list of previous artists-in-residence.Link to complete RFP

Her paintings are strongly influenced by the graphic stylizations and compressed spaces of Japanese ukiyo-e prints. Kishita’s paintings are in a number of private/corporate collections, including Toyota, Capital One, and Kaiser Permanente. She has participated in artist residencies in New Mexico, Russia, and Iceland and exhibited at the Sharjah Art Museum in the United Arab Emirates and the Museum of Non-Conformist Art in St. Petersburg, Russia. She holds a BFA and MFA from the University of the Arts.
