INTO ACT!ON – Open Call (Los Angeles, CA)

This Deadline Expired: Friday, January 5, 2018

INTO ACTION invites participating artists to submit your compelling art to their OPEN CALL!

Their esteemed selection jury will review your work and select FIVE (5) works to be shipped to Los Angeles and displayed at INTO ACTION alongside some of today’s most respected contemporary artists such as: Hank Willis Thomas, Favianna Rodriguez, Glenn Kaino, Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Zoe Buckman, Michael Murphy, Peregrine Honig, Bobby Hundreds, Sage Vaughn, Lisa Congdon, Ann Lewis and hundreds more. Additionally, TEN (10) additional works will be added to the INTO ACTION online gallery.

How It Works
INTO ACTION will be accepting submissions, via this website, between December 4, 2017 and January 5, 2018. You can submit any kind of visual art: painting, illustration, sculpture, collage, photograph, or digital/video works. — 2D or 3D. We ask you to submit up to three (3) submissions that will inspire visitors to think deeply about one of the INTO ACTION THEMES. We don’t expect all art to be literal, nor to fit perfectly within these suggested thematic prompts, but our selection jury will be looking for works that spark engagement and response.

Once the OPEN CALL submission deadline is reached, the entrants’ works will be reviewed for eligibility, then judged on three criteria: Overall Impact (Thematic), Originality, and Artistic Merit. Five (5) selected artworks will be shipped to Los Angeles and will be displayed alongside participating artists from January 13th to 21st, 2018. Ten (10) selected artworks will be added to the INTO ACTION online art gallery. Artwork, if selected, must be completed, packaged and ready to be shipped to the INTO ACTION gallery by January 5, 2018. Unfortunately, due to constraints of law, only U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens over the age of 18 are allowed to participate.

Please read the GUIDELINES & OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS for full details on the OPEN CALL.
