Job Description
Art education and community engagement are at the core of Fleisher Art Memorial’s long-term goals. The Adult Programs Manager works under the supervision of the Director of Programs and with the programs team to craft, execute, and manage Fleisher’s programming for adults consistent with the goals and objectives outlined in Fleisher’s strategic plan. The Manager of Adult programs is familiar with Fleisher’s faculty and adult students and supports their pursuits for personal fulfillment at Fleisher.
Skills and Qualifications
Four-year degree in arts administration, art history, art education, or related field. Advanced degree preferred. Minimum two years work experience with multi-cultural inner-city youth or adults in an art education setting, including development of curriculum and lesson plans. Demonstrated small- and large-scale project development and staff management experience. Additional language skills a plus.
Develop program content based on established goals with specific, measurable results. Ensure program quality throughout the year including professional development opportunities for faculty.
Select, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise art instructors. Facilitate focused and productive
annual meetings. Proactively and constructively address issues that seriously impact
instructors and the program.
Develop, present, and maintain budget(s). Work collaboratively with Fleisher senior staff to
set and meet annual earned revenue goals for tuition and fees. Oversee supply
management. With Registrar, track and report on outreach and enrollment efforts based on
targets aligned with Fleisher’s strategic plan.
Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key constituencies. Oversee documentation
and evaluation of program and ensure the program is managed consistently with grant
requirements. Facilitate Student Advisory Council meetings and selection of members.
When necessary, craft, review and revise program content for print, web, and social media.
Serve as spokesperson for, and proactively bring stories of faculty and students to Director
of Programs, communications and development colleagues.
