My work can be traced back to my own personal history and experiences, yet rather than being personal symbols, it is a product of a collective memory that I share with the viewer.

My interest in glass and found objects has allowed me to re-immerse myself in the world of toys, this time with a more mature twist. As I refer to my most sacred toys, I try to evoke universal images. There is a compelling irony as I create symbolic toys, which ask to be touched and manipulated, from glass, an extremely fragile material. I manipulate glass, recycle and integrate it with well-worn artifacts from the past, which are often perceived as useless in today's culture. This gives discarded items renewed purpose. As we interact tentatively with these objects they take us back to our most early memories while connecting us to other societies and eras.

Jenn is a painter! Mostly she's an oil painter, though she's been known to use just about any medium available at a given moment.

She Loves to paint. It's pretty much all she wants to do.
Shes Loves to paint the world and the beautiful things in it —
and she Loves that people really Love her paintings of our beautiful world and the beautiful things in it!

There is nothing really special about Jenn, she's just painter who paints... just about anything, just about all the time.

P.S. She's a bit of a formalist — her world is made up of line, color, shape, form, structure, composition and plasticity. And, while she paint from observation, the subject of the painting is not her objective. The process of painting is her objective — the process of how to best use the medium, often oil paint, to create and subjugate form on the two dimensional surface of the canvas.

Andrew Chalfen's colorful abstract-geometric paintings, drawings, and mixed-media pieces are dense, vibrant worlds of precisely rendered patterning, suggestive of aerial views, cartography, architectural renderings, psychedelia musical notation, urban-like densities, circuitry and digital life. His process is a mixture of focused intentionality and generative randomization strategies.
