Pilot Light Residency Winter 2020-2021 | Arts Letters & Numbers | Upstate NY

Ongoing Opportunity

This Winter, between December and February, arts letter & numbers is offering a limited number of people the opportunity to come to their Averill Park campus, to live and independently pursue their creative works.

They recognize that after many months in isolation, people are in need of a change in context to connect to their creative endeavors. They call this program: Pilot Light, and it is an adapted version of their regular Residency program. The primary difference from the regular residency being the absence of programs, community events, communal dinners etc. Participating artists in this program will be offered private accommodation and studio space for a reduced price of $250 a week. During this time each person will be fully independent, yet co-exist in shared spaces.

What elevates his work from mere craftsmanship is his visionary outlook. Rearranging objects and incorporating an iconography of myths, fairy tales, and personal idiosyncrasies, Warren Muller exudes an envious agility. Motion, change and improvisation are implied like a glimpse of chaos captured and frozen for a split-second.
