Portraits – Call for Submissions

PAGUS in Norristown PA would like to invite artists in the Philadelphia and surrounding area to submit their work to an exhibition of portraits both conventional and unconventional. The exhibition is open to artists working in all media including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography and works on paper.

The exhibition is September 15th – October 13th 2019 with an opening reception on September 15th 2019 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Artists are invited to submit high resolution images via email to director@pagusgallery.org. There is no submission fee. Please include the artist’s name with titles and dimensions for each artwork in the filename of the image. Artists are encouraged to submit up to 5 images.

The deadline for submissions is August 1st 2019 and Artists will be informed of their participation by August 3rd 2019. All accepted works must be delivered by Sept 8th 2019 for installation. Artwork must be available for the full duration of the show and ready to hang with appropriate hardware.

My artwork talks quietly about the underlying significance of the domestic sphere on artist production. It argues for the relevance of craft, specifically ceramics and fiber arts, by creating a conversation between the two mediums. Displaying a fascination with the way fiber marks clay, my ceramics exhibit just how subtle those marks can be.
