Ragdale Artist Fellowships

Ragdale Artist Fellowships

This Deadline Expired: Friday, May 15, 2020

Located in the former country estate of architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, Ragdale is a nonprofit artists community. Nearly two hundred residencies and fellowships are offered annually to creative professionals of all types, making Ragdale one of the largest interdisicplinary communities in the country. During each residency session, thirteen artists-in-residence enjoy uninterrupted time for work, a supportive environment, dynamic arts exchanges, fifty acres of idyllic prairie, and a family-style dinner each evening.

Ragdale has posted numerous upcoming fellowship opportunities:

Projects may be nonfiction or fiction (including journalism, essays, memoir, scriptwriting, creative nonfiction). Academic writing is not eligible.

Riedel Fellowship — In partnership with Loan and Norbert Riedel, an 18- or 25-day residency and $500 stipend will be awarded to an emerging Vietnamese visual artist or writer. Traeger Fellowship — In partnership with the Traeger Foundation, an 18- or 25-day residency along with a $500 stipend will be awarded to a musician, composer, or music scholar.
