Sixth Annual International Video Open Call

ASG is pleased to announce our our Sixth International Video Open Call for time-based media! Yearly we receive dozens of submissions. The theme of the show will grow out of the quality of the submissions we receive and we will start evaluating the submissions immediately. We recommend you to check out the last few years’ exhibitions on our website before you submit your application.

Videos of all types and genres will be considered. Submissions are DUE NOVEMBER 28 / 11:49 PM PDT. You will receive an email by our team regarding your submission by December. The Exhibition is occurring from January – February 2019 and will be open and free to public.

There is a required submission fee of $15

Matthew Borgen's recent work utilizes imagery from comic books published during the mid-20th century — the genre’s so-called golden age. Using their visual conventions, nostalgic aura, and narrative structure in combination with images borrowed from art history and other popular cultural sources, Borgen has developed a hybrid visual language which he uses in his digital prints and wall installations to make comment on topics ranging from historical, formal strategies of artmaking to issues within the current political and social discourse.
