The Blues Show

The Blues Show

Ongoing Opportunity

The Exchange Gallery in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, invites work on the theme “blue”: What does “blue” mean to you? Make work that shows it — the color blue, Blues music, blue in the face, blue skies, anything blue! All media accepted, 2-D and 3-D, including video and installation pieces. No entry fee. Please price your work for sale (“Not For Sale” work also accepted); artists receive 80% of the sale price, with the Exchange Gallery responsible for sales tax.

The reception will take place 5-9 p.m. on Friday, February 16th, in conjunction with the fifth annual Destination Blues Music Festival, at the Exchange Gallery, 24 east Main Street, Bloomsburg.

The Gallery is a project of the non-profit Exchange, run by a committee of artist volunteers to provide a venue through themed, open-call exhibitions and juried or invitational shows that offer exposure to ALL regional artists, regardless of age and level of experience. Gallery exhibitions are selected and scheduled by the Gallery committee and are generally on display for four to six weeks. Opening receptions are arranged in conjunction with other events in downtown Bloomsburg, especially Artspace Gallery openings, typically on Saturday evenings.

Most of our themed shows do not require any entry fee, and all artists’ work goes on display; only rarely do we have to “edit” for space considerations.

Artists shipping work must provide return postage and have sole responsibility for any insurance.

Exhibiting artists must sign an exhibition agreement form that releases The Exchange from liability for any theft, damage, or loss. See http://mooseexchange.org/site/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Exchange-Exhibit-Agreement-7-20-16.pdf

Regular Gallery hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays and Fridays, with other hours as posted on the Web site at https://www.exchangearts.org/calendar.
