The Soapbox Part-Time Studio & Membership Facilitator

The Soapbox Part-Time Studio & Membership Facilitator

This Deadline Expired: Friday, October 15, 2021

The Soapbox: Community Print Shop & Zine Library seeks applications for a new part-time position: the Studio & Membership Facilitator supports the in-studio experience of studio members and visitors, fostering a nurturing, welcoming, and supportive environment while ensuring a well-functioning studio.

The Soapbox is a nonprofit community arts space devoted to print, paper, book, and zine arts. Located in Southwest/West Philadelphia at 4700 Kingsessing Ave. since 2018, The Soapbox provides equipment access on a membership basis, offers workshops, and hosts a library of zines and handmade publications that is open to the public twice a week. Run by a working board of 12 and a team of Fellows who trade their time for membership, The Soapbox is excited to launch this paid position.

The Studio & Membership Facilitator will play a critical role at the heart of the activities, welcoming and orienting new members, communicating with Fellows, and participating in the ongoing operations of Studio & Membership activities. They will implement studio protocols, tend to basic ongoing studio maintenance, and have a first-hand view of the exciting member projects being created in the studio.

10 hours per week; $20 per hour. Benefits include paid time off, free workshop participation opportunities, keyholder studio access, and the potential for occasional additional hours on a contract basis if desired.
