The Art Department of the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) position to support the Art department in two ways. Twenty hours per week will be committed to working as the Painting Technician. Twenty hours will be as general administrative support to the Art Department, which includes programs in Ceramics, Fibers & Material Studies, Glass, Metals, Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Printmaking.
Twenty hours a week, the Painting Technician will manage the painting studios. This includes managing all tools, spaces, equipment and supplies and ensuring safety. Knowledge of all aspects of painting studio management is necessary. Management, organizational, and record-keeping skills are required. The Painting technician will be expected to work in coordination with the Painting Area Head and Faculty. All applicants must be willing and able to work with additional studio discipline facilities and technicians as needed. The successful candidate must be able to stay current with technology, tools, and techniques appropriate to their studios, adapt existing resources to evolving needs, and learn new skills as necessary. Twenty hours a week, this individual will support the Art Department faculty by assisting with Concur expense reimbursements or speaker fees/travel arrangements and managing communications (including listservs) and arrangements for all-department events. The Department Admin Specialist will support the Department Chair with program and accreditation reviews including collection of materials and synthesizing data.
Qualifications: 3-5 years’ experience in a related area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience with Concur and Banner preferred.

This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
