USPS Art Project
deadline: Friday, November 13, 2020
The USPS Art Project is a collaborative, mail based, art project started by artist Christina Massey. The USPS Art Project has shown all over the country, and is now looking for submissions for its Philadelphia location: the Park Towne Place Artist Studio Gallery!
The USPS Art Project works by artists finding a collaborator (need help- check out the Facebook group Artists for the USPS). One artist starts the piece and ships it to their counterpart (via USPS of course!) who finishes the work. The second artist then ships the finished work to the gallery who will handle all installation, documentation, and promotion. All work is additionally shared online on the @uspsartproject social media accounts.
This is an open call exhibition with all artists welcome to apply. All work must be framed, wired, or otherwise be able to be hung on the wall via hardware (no magnets/velcro/tape/etc). All work must be received via USPS with appropriate insurance and tracking information.
InLiquid receives 40% of any sales and 60% goes to the artists. As a non-profit, any commission that InLiquid receives directly supports our Philadelphia community by supporting InLiquid to serve the public through free and accessible programming and exhibitions.
Please support the USPS project via GoFundMe to help cover the costs of return shipping and support this traveling exhibition. Donate HERE. Donations also support the expenses from shipping works from previous locations for the exhibition.
To submit, please fill out the submission form HERE.
