Imagined Beyonds showcases Eva Shelley and Sally K. Eisenberg’s temporal, spatial, and illusive artwork. Shelley’s glass floral sculptures and Eisenberg’s abstract bright paintings capture moments frozen in space and time. Shelley’s tactile sculptures of floral bouquets are balanced by Eisenberg’s playful paintings which demonstrate intricate color and shape relations. Imagined Beyonds highlights the elegance of creative presence: Shelley demonstrates this through the meticulous portrayal of an immortalized bouquet of freshly cut flowers, while Eisenberg embodies this through her bursts of color that are created in moments of spontaneity and inspiration. Both artists test the boundaries of familiarity and objectivity, and the audience is asked to question the objects’ embodiment as they appear.

Eva Shelley has been working with glass since 2000, when she was in high school at the Crefeld School, and continued her passion for glass work in college at Temple University’s Tyler School of Arts. There Shelley majored in glass, and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Her focus was on furnace work, where she learned hot and cold casting, as well as slumped and fused glass. Shelley is currently a freelance glass artist, creating artwork and jewelry for loved ones, events, and company gifts.
