Artist Talk with Adam Wallacavage
We are excited to welcome mixed media artist Adam Wallacavage to Park Towne Place on July 26, where he will give a talk about past and ongoing creative projects. Wallacavage was a founding member of the historic Philadephian artist collective and workshop, Space 1026, and is a graduate of the University of the Arts. At Park Towne, he is known for his bright red, tentacular chandelier entitled White Dixie Larue. Much of his work embodies a twisting mixture of characteristics, combining the forms of living sea creatures with the style and finish of theatrical interior decoration. Wallacavage has exhibited his sculptures internationally, and has also maintained an active photography practice. His book Monster Size Monsters catalogues a portion of these images, including glimpses into his well known Victorian home, which he has spent years remodeling into a colorful, surrealistic environment.
Please join us in the Oar Pub for refreshments and hors d’oeuvres as we hear more about Wallacavage’s career and exuberant art works.
