Join us in the Lower Level of Towne Center from 2 - 4 PM on Saturday, August 3rd, for an exclusive painting workshop with PTP Venezuelan artist in-residence Edith Zapata, taught in Spanish and English. Drawing on her background as a graphic designer and her unique approach to abstract drawing, painting, and sculpture, Edith will share insights into her creative process and techniques.

In this workshop, Edith will guide participants through exercises in Spanish and English in a great opportunity to practice the language and make art. Whether you're an experienced artist looking for new inspiration or a novice seeking to explore your creative potential, this workshop offers something for everyone. All material will be provided.

About the Artist:

"I have always considered myself a sensitive person, in the midst of many circumstances as an immigrant, I understood the importance of enjoying and projecting each of my emotions, the cycles. I love high contrasts, I look for the balance between shapes and colors in an abstract or explicit way.

I connect with the space translating each image of mother nature, the strength of women, fauna and with our ancestors as a guide I create my own language that helps me better understand what surrounds me, influenced by my Latin roots.

Art has become my greatest strength and meaning for this path on this physical plane, and I hope that the observer finds a reason to be happy, another to analyze, find an answer or create his own story.

Acompáñenos en la planta baja del Towne Center de 2 - 4 PM el sábado 3 de agosto en un exclusivo taller de pintura con la artista venezolana residente del PTP Edith Zapata, impartido en español e inglés. Basándose en su formación como diseñadora gráfica y en su enfoque único del dibujo abstracto, la pintura y la escultura, Edith compartirá sus conocimientos sobre su proceso creativo y sus técnicas.

En este taller, Edith guiará a los participantes a través de ejercicios en español e inglés en una gran oportunidad para practicar el idioma y hacer arte. Tanto si eres un artista experimentado en busca de nueva inspiración o un principiante que busca explorar su potencial creativo, este taller ofrece algo para todos. Se proporcionará todo el material.

“Siempre me he considerado una persona sensible, en medio de muchas circunstancias como inmigrante, entendí la importancia de disfrutar y proyectar cada una de mis emociones, los ciclos. Me encantan los altos contrastes, busco el equilibrio entre formas y colores de forma abstracta o explícita.

Conecto con el espacio traduciendo cada imagen de la madre naturaleza, la fuerza de la mujer, la fauna y con nuestros ancestros como guía creo mi propio lenguaje que me ayuda a entender mejor lo que me rodea, influenciada por mis raíces latinas.

El arte se ha convertido en mi mayor fuerza y sentido para este camino en este plano físico, y espero que el observador encuentre un motivo para alegrarse, otro para analizar, encontrar una respuesta o crear su propia historia.
