Exhibits & Events

Join acclaimed Philadelphia artist and teacher Peter Paone at the Brandywine Museum of Art for a fascinating discussion of his seven-decade career with guest curator Audrey Lewis. Known today largely as a painter, Paone experienced success as a printmaker (specifically as an etcher) early in his career. An exhibition of this compelling early work, In Shadows’ Embrace: Prints by Peter Paone, opens at the Museum on May 25. The display includes selections from Paone’s The Ten Commandments of Ambrose Bierce (1963), a major achievement for which the artist won the prestigious Guggenheim grant in 1965.

The Museum will open at 5:30 p.m. with the conversation at 6 p.m. and a reception to follow. For questions about this event, please contact Mary Cronin at maryc@brandywine.org.
