Studio Montclair (SMI) presents Inspired by the Weight of an Object, a Community Partnership Collaboration on exhibit at both Studio Montclair’s Leach Gallery, and the Montclair Art Museum’s Vance Wall Art Education Center.

Weight of Object, juried by Virginia Block and Ira Wagner, is comprised of works focusing on the position, angle, or visual weight of an object within the picture plane while also considering how this impacts a viewer’s understanding of the artwork. Participating artists were asked to consider how size, perspective, or repetition of an object within a composition could be interpreted. The exhibit is the fifth collaboration in SMI’s Community Partnership Exhibition program, which champions the creative possibilities derived from a collaboration between SMI and other local nonprofit organizations.
