The Bidding Game

A gift certificate from Fringe Salon will be up for auction.

A free event is more than enough reason to avoid a lonely Valentine’s Day. But the items up for bid at the preview to InLiquid’s Benefit v.13 will add some extra sweetening to your evening.

Young Professionals Preview Night on Thursday, February 14, 6 – 9 pm at the Crane Arts Building, is your chance to view the silent auction before the competition.

But don’t be intimidated by the thought of auction prices. With gift certificates from around the area, along with artwork that will appeal to wallets of all sizes, even the youngest of young professionals can enjoy taking a spin at the bidding game.

Here’s our teaser of some of the non-art items that will be available:

In the whirlwind series of job and internship interviews, more often than not your hair probably ends up looking like it was styled by Edward Scissorhands. Gift certificates from East End Salon and Fringe Salon will have you looking presentable again in no time.

Poetic Licence Pumps in Size 8 from Bus Stop Boutique.

You don’t have to stop at your hair. The next time you’re running a little late for a meeting, make up for it by entering with style in a pair of Poetic Licence pumps from Bus Stop Boutique. Then, rest your weary soles in some new (old) furniture with a gift certificate from Reform Vintage Modern.

It doesn’t hurt to refuel yourself at the occasional food truck – more often than not, it may seem like you don’t have the time for anything else. Give yourself a reason to make the time with gift certificates from restaurants like Positano Coast, Kisso Sushi Bar, and Sabrina’s Cafe.

Or just bring some treats back home with you, thanks to a gift certificate from Bredenbeck’s Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor or a gift basket from Spodee.

There are dozens of other items available from businesses around the area. This Valentine’s Day, it’s time to get a present for yourself.
