Sourced from urban planning, microbiology, and astronomy, Colleen Keefe’s drawings explore methods for multiplying urban landscapes as they consider all three sources to be related phenomena, all unfolding at different scales. Using organic models of both biological and astrological reproduction–from pollination to stellar birth–the resulting images depict cities expanding organically.
Agathe Bouton is a French artist, originally from Paris. She moved from Istanbul to Philadelphia two years ago. Her inspiration is drawn from the history and lives that urban buildings evoke as well as their intrinsic beauty. Whether it be from design, degradation, or a combination of the two, Bouton’s artworks are intended to bring forth reflections on the lives the observed buildings have lived throughout time.
