Artist Statement

“Wood, paper, steel, aluminum, Tyvek and roofing paper, construction mesh, and fencing all have an unseen beauty, and I try to find it.” Francis Beaty’s use of these materials and more uncover what is hidden in paintings, sculptures, and installations.

“Spontaneous Connections” reflects the manner in which this show has developed. Having had the opportunity to create art and experiment with new materials at several residencies, I discovered almost immediately several threads that connected all of these works. The shapes, the colors, the sizes, and placement of each piece in this show create a tableau of a journey.
