Please join us outside the Artist Studio Gallery in the lower level of Towne Center at Park Towne Place on February 20 from 6-8 PM for a reception for Drift and a Meet & Greet with Park Towne Place’s current Artist in Residence Richard King.
During his 2024 residency at Park Towne Place, Philadelphia-based artist Richard King built on his fascination with the ignored and invisible aspects of the world around us. He’s explored Park Towne Place and its surrounding urban environments in terms of their history, spatial character, textures, and form. Using this research and engagement with the surrounding communities, King is creating a new series during his residency. Come see some of his finished work and works in process, and hear more about his thoughts, techniques, and inspiration. Light refreshments will be provided.
About the Artist:
Based in Philadelphia, Richard’s art practice is focused on abstract drawing, painting, and sculpture, exploring the nature of form, space, and language in the art experience. Educated as an architect, he holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Temple University and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. Richard is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design.
