Harney wants to avoid the mundane by deconstructing the common scenery so routinely passing us by, then recreate an exciting version which grabs the viewer’s attention through a unique collage process. From gorgeous staged interiors to the vibrant outdoors the aim is to be transported and imagine oneself in a new setting. The meticulous attention to detail also demands appreciation from paintings that are then peeled and torn to the precise extraction of photographic prints, layered in a way to achieve tantalizing textures real or suggested. Each piece is cozy and charming in composition while breaking expected bounds.
