For the month of January on view are works by Jason Goldberg. The series of paintings confront both the sensual and the harmful, which shifts the viewer’s level of comfort by tantalizing the deeper core emotions, dreams, memories, and ideas. The artist embraces dichotomies both in subject and process, from attentions to rendering details to chance and expressiveness, from the alluring to the hideous. No doubt the haunting facial features will stay with you, rousing the searing disposition within, perfect for the harsh chill of dead winter.
