Exhibits & Events

Opening reception Thursday, August 1, 6 pm
Work by Annette Cords, William Cromar, Brent Crothers, Paul Fabozzi
Leonard Pearlstein Gallery
3401 Filbert Street
The Leonard Pearlstein Gallery of Drexel’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, in partnership with Philadelphia-based nonprofit InLiquid Art +Design, present Spatial Translations, a group exhibition exploring four artists – each dedicated to a unique process – and their interpretations of urban environments. Annette Cords’ acrylic paintings layer texture into a visual language. Paul Fabozzi’s data walks map out and reinterpret negative space. William Cromar slashes across gallery walls with razor thin wood. Brent Crothers bends purpose into found objects like copper piping and wood, translating them into stories of current events. Curated by Amber Lauletta, the exhibition coalesces into a cohesive, intimate network of landscape analysis.
An opening reception will take place Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. in the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery.
Visitors to this exhibit will have an opportunity to test a new visitor engagement tool via their smartphone, which will provide insights from the artists as a means to enhance the exhibition experience. This pilot project is being led by Drexel’s Arts Administration Program.
This exhibit is free and open to the public.
Public hours for the Westphal Gallery are Monday – Friday, 11 am – 5 pm.
Support provided in part by the Philadelphia Cultural Fund.
