The InLiquid Gallery is the physical expression of InLiquid’s mission as a hub for visual art in Philadelphia. As a non-profit providing opportunities and a platform for enhanced exposure for local artists, The Gallery is the first permanent space that offers rotating curation of our artist members’ work. The Gallery aims to provide the local and visiting public with a social destination where artwork can be seen, enjoyed, experienced, and purchased.
Time Unbound
Time Unbound is a presentation of work by members of the Art Cloth Network (ACN), and hosted by The InLiquid Gallery. This show, part of CraftNOW’s Craft Month, explores the medium of cloth from perspectives defined by two of the ACN’s annual juried collections:
“Full Circle” celebrates the ACN’s 20th year anniversary and addresses the notion of the circle. The artists consider the concepts of new beginnings, deja vu, rediscovery, and other themes evoked by the perception of circles. This collection was curated by Tracy Krumm, the Director of Artistic Advancement at Textile Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“Unbound” includes work that examines the limits of cloth, questioning and pushing the definition of art cloth by exploring new materials and ways of working. The theme prompts the artists to create diverse styles, subject matters, and content, yet the collection comes together as a cohesive whole. “Unbound” was juried by Michael James, a widely known fiber artist, professor and Department Chair at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Gallery hours are by appointment only, 12- 5 PM Monday- Saturday.
