Exhibits & Events

In response to the recent closure of the University of the Arts, Creative Philadelphia and Councilwoman Rue Landau join the chorus of cultural voices in support of former UArts students, faculty, and staff through Art In City Hall’s latest exhibition: Transcending Uncertainty: Art Endures at Home in Philadelphia. This collaborative initiative reinforces Philadelphia as a welcoming hub for creative pursuits and underscores the City’s commitment to fostering and sustaining our vibrant arts community. Transcending Uncertainty is an exhibition about community and solidarity, and it highlights the rich, diverse artistic expressions of these artists navigating through change and reclaiming their creative voices in a time of great uncertainty. The exhibition was selected by artist Lauren Rinaldi, who also serves as Councilmember Landau’s Arts and Culture Liaison. Working with Creative Philadelphia, 42 artists were selected, and over 50 works of various media are featured on the first-floor art gallery within Creative Philadelphia-Room 116, and on the fifth-floor corridor near City Council offices. Visitors should enter City Hall to sign-in at the NE Corner Visitor’s Entrance.
