ArtSource is a dynamic platform that centers local and regional artists in its curatorial mission. ArtSource has over 400 artists and they invited all of them to add their voice and perspective to tell a whole story about what successes and challenges they face in their process. Certainty on any given topic may seem out of reach, where uncertainty might hang around in abundance. Uncertainty may drive some and derail others from the artists’ journey. Certainty can be a blessing in the studio, but also exclude other artistic possibilities.
The Draper Gallery, at the heart of the museum, hosts an interactive, responsive, and sensitive portrait of a working artist's life. ArtSource members were invited to address one of three question prompts as a video experience in the space:
1) When do you feel most certain about your artistic practice or process?
2) What factors contribute to you feeling uncertain about your artistic practice or process?
3) Tell us about a time when you went from uncertain to certain about your practice, or an artwork, or a life decision that helped you focus more on art.
