Please join us for a two-person artist talk with Kate Stewart and Samara Weaver at Park Towne Place.
Both Stewart and Weaver are included in the current rotational exhibition at Park Towne Place, Taking a Line for a Walk, which explores line as a formal and conceptual element where each artwork can be seen as drawing in space.
Kate Stewart’s included paintings are brushy, illusionistic, and disrupted by crisp lines and hard edges. Samara Weaver included works straddle painting and sculpture; she paints watercolor paper by the yard she then folds it into densely coiled sculptures. Both Stewart and Weaver’s playfulness pushes their artwork over the line so it exists in more than one world simultaneously.
