Exhibition on view until: Saturday, January 2, 2021
Time Unbound is a presentation of work by members of the Art Cloth Network (ACN), and hosted by The InLiquid Gallery. This show, part of CraftNOW’s Craft Month, explores the medium of cloth from perspectives defined by two of the ACN’s annual juried collections:
“Full Circle” celebrates the ACN’s 20th year anniversary and addresses the notion of the circle. The artists consider the concepts of new beginnings, deja vu, rediscovery, and other themes evoked by the perception of circles. This collection was curated by Tracy Krumm, the Director of Artistic Advancement at Textile Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“Unbound” includes work that examines the limits of cloth, questioning and pushing the definition of art cloth by exploring new materials and ways of working. The theme prompts the artists to create diverse styles, subject matters, and content, yet the collection comes together as a cohesive whole. “Unbound” was juried by Michael James, a widely known fiber artist, professor and Department Chair at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Gallery hours are by appointment only, 12- 5 PM Monday- Saturday.
About The Art Cloth Network:
The Art Cloth Network is a diverse group of professional artists from the United States and Canada who have come together with a common goal–to promote the medium of cloth as an art form and share it with others. Each of our members brings a personal vision and sensibility to his or her cloth. The group was formed in 2000 to provide a support forum as well as exhibition opportunities for its members and to promote an appreciation of art cloth in the broader community.
