Since 1978, PVLA has empowered underserved artists and arts organizations in the Philadelphia region by providing access to free legal services, knowledge, and resources. On Thursday, May 15, 2025, PVLA will hold its annual fundraising event The Arts Affair 2025, at REC Philly in Center City Philadelphia. In addition to food, drink, entertainment, and participatory art-making, the event includes an award ceremony which recognizes exemplary law firms and lawyers who provided a generous amount of pro bono services to artists and small arts/culture organizations the preceding year. New this year is the presentation of the inaugural Creative Impact Award to an artist who has made lasting social impact with their work or actions.

We are seeking a visual artist to create this year's awards. We will need a total of 6 awards which can be the same or similar in design but would need personalization to include the recipient's name, name of the award, year, and PVLA branding all of which will be provided to the artist by PVLA. The design of the award should capture the spirit and mission of PVLA and should be ready to hang or display.  A $400 honorarium will be provided to the artist following the delivery of the awards by May 1. The artist creating the awards will be acknowledged in The Arts Affair event program, highlighted in a PVLA email communication, and provided with two complimentary general admission tickets to the event on May 15.

Interested artists should email a sketch of their proposed design and images of existing work to Nan Latona at nlatona@pvla.org by February 22. The selected artist will be notified by March 1.
